Lone Tree

Good afternoon and Happy Easter Eve!

I enjoyed the last week off from school and wish I had brought my camera to FL.  This summer I plan to take it with me and set up some appointments with friends to take photos of all the children I know!  I am so excited to get this going and cannot wait to see how all of my work turns out.  I have a lot of friends and family who have BEAUTIFUL children (teens too!).  I will post the dates we are coming home soon.

Today I passed by this HUGE tree that sits between two fields.  I have passed by it hundreds of times.  I have always wanted to take photos.  Today was THE day.  I passed by it and went straight home and said I'm doing it.  Grabbed the camera and went back.  I didn't realize there was a little road in between the two fields right by the tree.  I will upload my pix to my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Wall-Photography/151496851571779).

Photo Shoot for Kadi Fit

Hello friends!  Life is good!  How about you?  I am currently working Full Time through the end of the school year.  AMEN!  I have been in a photography 101 class that was AWESOME.  Thanks Mike Homan (http://www.homandesigns.com/)!  The photo class was just what I needed to relearn the info I had previously learned in 15 years ago.

Last week I was give the opportunity to take photos for Katie Dixon, owner of Kadi Fit (http://www.kadifit.com/blog/).  Please go to my Facebook page to see more photos (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wall-Photography/151496851571779)
Creative Movement Class

 Hip Hop Class

I took the Hip Hop Performace photos on Tue and realized I had not practiced too much with action photography.  I did a little in class but my main focus had been candid portrait or architecture.  I didn't have to worry too much about buildings moving.  :)  It was a little challenging for me with the movement but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.  I cannot wait to take more photos.  I really loved the Hip Hop class and the children's choice of clothes and colors.  It was so much fun to open up the photos and make changes.  I did find that my photos seem to be a bit grainy (if that is a word).  I will have to learn more and find out if it's something to do with the editing or with the photo taking itself.

I of course loved taking photos of the Creative Movement class (younger kids) -- my daughter is in that one. However the older children have so much personality with the Hip Hop Class.

Thank you Katie Dixon for the opportunity to take photos.  I also want to say Katie has been a great inspiration for me.  She was the start up push behind me wanting to push myself to make my passion my career.  Katie did this for herself and is a role model for myself.  Love you Katie!

ALL MY FRIENDS and FAMILY....
Let me know when you want your Spring photos taken.  I would love to set up a time for some candid shots of your children.

Blessings,

Back to the Basics

I am so blessed and excited!  I am going to be taking a basics class in Photo 101.  Thank you Mike Homan http://homandesigns.com/  for allowing me to be part of your class!  I will be attending classes for the next four Saturdays.  I look forward to relearning all the basics of a manual camera.  I have been spoiled using digital.  However, I am excited to relearn how to make the camera do what I want it to do!  I will update my page after my experience.  All of you who enjoy photography and would like to try to use your digital camera in the manual settings, follow along with me and please let me know how you do!  Don't forget check my FACEBOOK PAGE for photos http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wall-Photography/151496851571779

SMILE

I may post music from time to time that is inspirational to me.  SMILE by Kirk Franklin is a great inspiration to me!  Take a listen on the YouTube Video below.

Thank you to Kate Walser from www.thebirdsnestphotography.com for your advice.  I admire you and cannot wait to hang out and learn from you!  Any other photographers out there if you would like to meet up and take photos  I would love to be a part of this. Please let me know if there are groups that do this.  I would love to learn from others!

Let the Journey Begin!

Is it Spring yet?  Is anyone else ready for some warm weather?  I am so excited to tell all my friends, family and followers that I am on a new and exciting adventure.  I have begun the journey to my passionate career.  Have you ever asked your self as an adult "What do I want to be when I grow up"?  Well like most of us, we wonder the same thing.  I am currently reading a book called Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk.  If you want to find out what you want to be when you grow up, just read Crush It!  I have a few passions in life.
One is PHOTOGRAPHY
 The other is CHILDREN.

Most of you know I am a certified teacher.  I graduated 11 years ago and have been applying in the Education field for 4 years.  I love working with children!  I still have to work Full Time.  I am praying for that as well.  I am a single mom.  Being unemployed is not easy.  I am a substitute teacher so that helps some.  I will work hard so that my passion will be my career and it will not be work!  I love taking photos and cannot wait to get started!

While I am on this journey, I will continue to update you.  I have had a few photography classes in High School and College.  I LOVED every single minute of them!  The classes were many, many years ago!  However, I believe that a photographer never looses her touch.  As I drive down the road or walk along the street, I see photos in my mind.  Anyone who loves photography knows what I am talking about.

Through out my journey I will have God on my side to guide me.  I will also need to get into some photography classes.  A few to get me back into learning my camera (digitally and manually).  See back in the day, we only used 35 mm or even a pin hole camera!  Haha!  We didn't have digital cameras.  I will also need a class or two in PhotoShop.  This is what I am really excited about!  I hope that I can meet up with other photographers in the area to trade my time for learning from them.

Some of you may be curious why I chose the name Wall Photography.  Well my closest friends and family know, Wall is my maiden name.  It symbolizes my daddy!  He was one of the walls to our family and is now at his eternal home with our Father God!  I know my dad would be so proud of me.  I know he always knew I would have my own successful business.  Daddy, I am on my way!

Please share my page and keep coming back!  I plan to also do some video blogs after I get used to this whole blog thing.  Stay tuned!

Make today a great day!
